Born in Middletown, CT. and raised in Hartford and East Hampton. He has been a resident of Newington, CT. for the past 30 years. He has 5 children and 6 grandchildren. Mr. Stringer is a Marine Corps veteran and was awarded a Purple Heart for combat related injuries during the Viet Nam conflict.
Mr. Stringer is a 1975 graduate of the University of Hartford, where he received a B/S degree in Special Education. He too received an M/S degree in Special Education (1982) and 6th degree in Intermediate Administration (1984) from CCSU.
Mr. Stringer also served as Vice President of HPSA from: 1998-2003, 2006-2008. In 2003, through a nomination by CIAC/CAS, Mr. Stringer served as a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals’ Board of Directors from 2003-07. He was also selected as the 2003 CAS Principal of the Year. Mr. Stringer has been a negotiator for CFSA since 1996. Currently, Mr. Stringer serves as Vice President of CFSA.
