Jill Marocchini

Jill Marocchini is a retired educator with 36 years of experience in public education, concluding her career in July 2022. She began her career in Boston as a special education teacher working with students with emotional disabilities. She later relocated to Connecticut, where she taught PreK special education and earned her master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education.
Over the course of her career, Jill taught special education across multiple grade levels and after she received her Educational Leadership degree she became a Supervisor of Special Education and Related Services at the CREC Magnet Schools. During her tenure at CREC, she played a key role in unionizing administrator colleagues and has served as Vice President since its inception. She also participated in the initial and subsequent contract negotiation teams, helping to develop the original agreement. Earlier in her career, Jill served as Teacher Union President at her school.
Since retiring, Jill has remained active in education, serving as a substitute special education teacher, Interim Director of Special Education and Pupil Services, and currently as a Surrogate Parent for the Connecticut State Department of Education.
